Life is full of a multitude of experiences and life lessons. I have no doubt that, if you are like most of us, life has thrown you a curve ball at some point or another. Some of these moments may seem to be of less significance, while others have left what appears to be an indelible impression forever. Whether you are struggling with problems related to a recent life adjustment, are stuck in a rut and need a sounding board, or are wading through deep unrelenting currents of depression, grief, trauma, anxiety or lack of self-worth, seeking the help of a mental health service provider is one of the most important decisions you could make to help you strive toward healing. Research supports choosing a therapist that you feel comfortable with is key to successful outcomes. Choosing someone who will wade through the currents with you in partnership, while offering compassion, encouragement and a safe place to express yourself is vital.  What is equally important in choosing a provider is their level of training and expertise in the challenges that you and your loved ones face.

I have 14+ years of experience working in the mental health field, including employment within a residential treatment facility, working under the supervision of a licensed neuropsychologist, working in a mental health agency and within the public school system providing mental health services for clients of various ages. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Belmont University and later graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. I offer individual, couples and family therapy utilizing various evidenced-based methods and techniques. I specialize in trauma and also have extensive experience working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm and grief related to change of life issues following divorce, separation or the passing of a loved one.

I offer both telehealth and in-person sessions. Some of the therapeutic approaches I employ throughout the therapeutic process are based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Therapy. Though I often use a mix of these approaches depending on your needs, we will partner together to determine which therapeutic approach works best for you.
